Thus

We finished the game. Go here to access our game's website - it's pretty boss.

Whoa nelly

Today we playtested another group's game while another group play tested ours. It was fun but kind of frustrating. Without the complete set of cards, it was hard to progress through the game. Our group played a creepy game, literally, Creepy the Game. Liz was cheating hardcore. She was rolling doubles left and right and got 2 keys before everyone else. We also got scolded for having food in the room. Lesson learned.

On the Third Day

Today we played with a hexagonal board that Matt brought in.  Compared to the square board, the hexagonal board is much more aesthetically pleasing.  We also messed around with the terrain which was fun.  Although we are supposed to avoid craft elements in the game's design, we could probably work something in.  Sneaky-like you know?  We also incorporated the use of one die to figure out who would go first.  Soon, we should have figured out all the spell cards so we can actually make them and stop relying on the computers for information.

Matt said he's figured out how to create a hexagonal pattern on Excel.  Craziness.  We're planning on printing that out somehow and mounting it on some kind of thick cardboard to build the actual game board.  Should be cool.

What's not cool is how everyone was picking on Alison.  She's too awesome to be picked on.

On the Second Day

Today was a lab day and we spent a good amount of time catching up on the work due today. For the purpose of trying out the prototype, we created a small deck of spell cards to use for the trial. All four of us played. Although Matt had to steer us in the correct direction most of the time, we had fun dealing out damage.

We're not experts at this game, not yet. Some of us (me) still need to figure out the strategic elements of the game. We'll need to also work out the final shape of the board for presentation, transitioning from a customizable board to one that would not require as much preparation prior to the game's beginning.

But it was fun! Picking on LIZ.

On the First Day

We were vampires - but vampires are complicated.  Too much intrigue and too many minions.  We decided, as a group, to switch game ideas and ended up using the prototype we created for the very first class: SORCERERS.  This version, however, is called SORCERERS: THE GAME.

The goal of the game is to either inflict a certain amount of maximum damage on your opponent or something else - which is the beauty of this game.  It's highly customizable.  But basically, survival is key.
